December PPE Paper 2: Learner Response

     WWW: A fair attempt at Q4 with some detailed arguments made about gender representation in video games- it shows a clear understanding and knowledge of both CSPs 

EBI: Lacking on quality and detail Q1.2+Q1.3 the clip analysis Qs. You need to practice this before your next paper 2 PPE. Also need to work on timings, there are 3 20 mark essays in this paper- you need to be quick.

2) On a scale of 1-10 (1 = low, 10 = high), how much revision and preparation did you do for your Media PPE?

3) Use the mark scheme for this assessment to identify three points you could have made in any of the questions in Section A (Television). Look for the indicative content in the mark scheme - these are the suggested answers from AQA. (Note: the mark scheme for Question 5 has changed as the CSPs have been updated since this exam paper was first published).

- Locations such as school rooms and teen bedrooms 

- Costumes & hair and makeup range from contemporary teen drama wear. 

- Dominant storyline of typical sci-fi elements. 

4) There are three 20-mark essay questions in Media Paper 2. What will you do to improve your performance in the 20-mark essays in the March PPEs? 

Split my time so more of my time goes towards the 20 mark questions instead of the other ones. 

5) Question 5 is a synoptic question that requires you to refer to other CSPs from the whole GCSE Media course. What other CSPs could you have used for this Question 5 on whether media products are just created to make money?

Represent NHS Blood & Transplant campaign: CSP

  1) What does BAME stand for? BAME stands for Black, Asian and minority ethnic.   2) Why is there a need for blood in the BAME community?  There is a need for blood in the BAME community as only 3% of the BAME community donate blood.  3) What does this advert want people to do once they've seen it (the 'call to action')? This advert wants people to sign up to become blood donors and donate their blood to people who need it after they've seen it.  4) Why is the advert called 'Represent'? This advert is called represent as it wants people to step up and represent other people to help people who need the blood.   5) Why have the producers chosen famous BAME celebrities to feature in the advert?
