Camera work and editing analysis

1) Camera Shots:     -Medium close-up: This is when the camera gets closer in on the character and the face and top of shoulders is shown.This has an effect on the audience as it let's the audience get to know the character more and get to know more about the characters facial features.    -Establishing shot: Used to introduce location and set the scene. This has an effect on the audience as it let's the audience know where the scene is set and introduces the location to us.    -Over-the-shoulder: This is when the camera is positioned looking from behind a person at the subject. This has an effect as it shows the audience what the character is looking at/might be having a conversation with a person. 2) Camera Angle      -God's eye view: usually a static angle which captures action from a larger distance. Mise-en-scene Stranger Things analysis

  1) What do each of the letters in CLAMPS stand for? C ostume L ighting A ctors/Actions M ake up/hair P rops S etting 2) What TV genre is Stranger Things?  Stranger Things is a Drama, Fantasy and horror TV series.  3) Costume: The costumes in this clip are very old schooled and retro for the kids and the parents which links to the theme of the series which is set in the 1980s. At the beginning of the scene there is a scientist who is wearing a lab coat and a lanyard which then links to the idea of science fiction which is also the theme of the series. Props: The props are old schooled in this clip as well as it was obviously set in the 1980s. These include vintage phones, board game pieces,caps,bicycles,vintage cars,vintage TV, restricted,do not enter signs and old shutters/blinds. This links to the theme of it being old school as in those times kids didn't have any electronics so they would play with board games or make up some games. Denotation and connotation- Chocolate advert

                        Denotation:There is chocolate (main product) lying on a book,a white text,the company's name/logo in the left corner and the background appears to be the ground.                  Connotation: The chocolate, book and company is in the colour purple which might suggest luxury,mystery and magic. The white text might intrigue the audience/consumers to go and buy this chocolate to find out the answer to the question. The book might represent how when you read a book you find out what's happening and the magic inside of the book so maybe when you bite into the chocolate the same things happens. The background being the ground might suggest that the chocolate is so good that it pulls you back down towards gravity after you bite into it. The company's logo being purple might suggest that their chocolate is luxurious.                   Analysis:The advert helps the audience understand the product as the the colour reflects the actual packaging.
