Denotation and connotation- Chocolate advert


   

                    Denotation:There is chocolate (main product) lying on a book,a white text,the company's name/logo in the left corner and the background appears to be the ground.


                 Connotation: The chocolate, book and company is in the colour purple which might suggest luxury,mystery and magic. The white text might intrigue the audience/consumers to go and buy this chocolate to find out the answer to the question. The book might represent how when you read a book you find out what's happening and the magic inside of the book so maybe when you bite into the chocolate the same things happens. The background being the ground might suggest that the chocolate is so good that it pulls you back down towards gravity after you bite into it. The company's logo being purple might suggest that their chocolate is luxurious.


                  Analysis:The advert helps the audience understand the product as the the colour reflects the actual packaging. In addition the white text might encourage the audience to buy the product to find out the answer to the question. The advert shows a bit of the chocolate coming out of the packaging which might intrigue the audience to buy it cause it looks appealing to them.
