End of Year 1 exam learner response

 1) Type up your feedback in full (you do not need to write mark/grade if you do not wish to).

WWW:

-Very good focus on social, cultural and historical contexts or both TV csps

-Lot's of theory/ terminology evidence in your assessment

EBI:

-Work on your timings- not enough detail given for Q1.2,

-Look at the mark scheme- indicative content to see what you could have included for Q1.2, Q2.3, Q2

2) Question 1.1 asked you what intertextuality is. Write out the definition of intertextuality - you may need to look it up in your glossary or Media book if you're not sure. You can also find an answer using the mark scheme - you'll need your Greenford Google login to access this

When one media text references with another like how Class has elements refering to Doctor Who.

3) Look at your answers for 1.2 and 1.3. Did you ONLY write about the clip shown in the exam? How can you improve your answers in these questions?

I believe i did only write about the clip shown. I could improve by adding more narrative features in Q1.2.

4) Look at your answer for question 2 - the 20-mark essay. Did you write about BOTH Doctor Who and Class and give examples from both CSP episodes we have studied? How could you improve your answer here?

Yes i have used both Doctor Who and Class examples, i could have improved by writing about the genre Sci-Fi.

5) Are you happy with your End of Year 1 exam result?

Yeah i'm quite happy.

6) What will you do differently for the next set of mock exams in November/December?

Revise more for it.

7) Write THREE things you need to revise or practice before your next TV assessment (e.g. notetaking, CSPs, media theories, terminology etc.)

Media theories, CSP's and time management.

8) What final overall grade do you hope to achieve in GCSE Media Studies this time next year?

I hope to achieve a grade 6 or 7.
