 Media Language 

1) How many of the 12 magazine cover key conventions feature on this edition of Reveal?

-Cover Images, price and bar code on cover, cover lines, colour scheme.

2) What is the font choice used on the cover and what does this choice connote? 

Nearly all the fonts are in sans serif to connote how modern and up to date the magazine is.

3) How do the cover lines appeal to the Reveal target audience?

The cover lines are very gossipy and familiar. This appeals to the whole "gossip with friemds" feel the magazine is going for.

4) What are the connotations of the Reveal colour scheme on this particular front cover?

The colour scheme is yellow, pink and red which really stands out and grabs the audiences attention.

5) How are images used to create interest in the magazine?

The images are mostly paparazzi images where they've paid a photographer to take loads of photos of celebrities "in the act".

6) What differences can you find between the use of design and typography between Tatler and Reveal? List at least three and explain the effect on audiences.

One difference between Tatler and Reveal cover is that Reveal only uses sans-serif on the cover whereas Tatler uses serif. This may suggest that Tatler's audience is more older and traditional whereas Reveal's audience is more younger and modern. Another difference is how the magazine's cover's are presented, Tatler is more neat and sophisticated with a clear central image whereas Reveal is more messy with multiple pictures and headlines and all the images are covered with writing.

Representations

1) What type of celebrities appear on the front cover? How are they represented in Reveal?

 Reality TV celebrities and singers appear on the front cover of Reveal. They aren't really represented in a positive way as the media tries to present them in a sneaky and secretive way.

2) How are women represented on the cover of Reveal? Think about both images and cover lines here.

Women on the cover of Reveal are represented as secretive, in need of male partners, scandulous, who only are interested in starting a family or losing weight.

3) How do Reveal and Tatler represent social class? (E.g. middle/upper class and working class)
Reveal represents the working/lower class and Tatler represents the middle/upper class.

Social and cultural context

1) What aspects of British life are reflected in Reveal? How does this compare to Tatler? 

The aspects of British life represented on Reveal is pregnancy, motherhood, marriage,relationships and dieting whereas Tatler represents the rich side of British life with parties, clothes, expensive jewellery, makeup.

2) What do the cover lines in Reveal suggest about the issues and lifestyle of Reveal readers?

The cover lines such as "swapping cardio for carbs" suggests that women only only care about losing weight and trying to keep up with the beauty standard these days.

3) Find three other front covers for Reveal. What issues or features regularly appear in Reveal? 

Reveal mostly issues about relationships, drama, pregnancy, weight loss, beauty shown by words used in their covers like "mum" "baby bump" "relationship" "diet"
